Special Needs Parents Advice Group
with Mark Brown of Special Help for Special Needs
This is a friendly and informal drop-in support group for parent carers of children and young people with additional needs.
Mark (Special Help for Special Needs) is an expert on a range of issues including toileting, sleep, behaviour. obsessions, puberty and much more. He has worked with many families to help them overcome a variety of challenging issues. He is generously donating his time so more local families can get his help. This is your chance to get his advice and also meet up with other parents and carers who are in a similar position to you.
When: Drop in any time between 10am to 12noon
Where: Wallington United Reformed Church, Stanley Park Road, Wallington
Cost: Voluntary donation of £1 to be paid on the day
Tea and biscuits are guaranteed, along with a friendly, non-judgemental environment!

Asperger & Autism Adult Support Group
Active Listening Workshop with David Lane
For adults with a diagnosis or who think they may have the condition
A chance to chat, relate, learn, share strategies and interests
Friendly and informal, with a topic, activity or guest speaker.
Today's session will be an Active Listening Workshop
presented by David Lane, Communication Trainer.
A chance to develop your listening skills to help you:
Convey respect, interest, and empathy
Support the self-determination of the person being listened to
To understand what the speaker is saying
To help the speaker clarify his or her own thoughts and feelings
To let the speaker know you have heard and understood
When: Tuesday 24th April 6.30 - 8pm
Where: The Riverside Centre, Culvers Avenue, Carshalton
Cost: Free but a donation of £1 would be appreciated
